GENUINE PROTOTYPE Polaroid Captiva Series 90 SE USA Cambridge MA Test Model ! Purchased from a previous Polaroid employee in Cambridge Massachusetts ! He was given this prototype Captiva series camera along with film to test in the real world and it was never actually put into production since Captiva Cameras were not much of a success, unfortunately.
Special Edition model for Captiva that was never put into production.
He told me some great stories and a lot about working as a Polaroid employee and how he often was given cameras to test. Also mentioned was that cameras given to employees to test were often “Franken-Cameras” where pieces of the same series camera models were used to produce a new model to save money and use spare parts. Some prototype cameras contradict themselves and will state that they take different types of film in different spots on the same camera. Very cool experience!
I plan to give a portion of this sale back to the previous employee as well as a thank you for the information and experience in general to purchase a piece like this.
